Frequently Asked Questions

  • The easiest way to submit your script is to email it as a PDF to hello@bearobertswriter.com

I can also accept scripts in FDX Final Draft files and create notes directly on the file if requested.

  • You’ll receive a confirmation email detailing your purchase and instructions on how to submit your script and/or book in your session.

If I don’t hear from you within 72 hours then I’ll drop you a line to follow up so we can get started!

I’ll always acknowledge receipt of your script and give you an estimated date for when you can expect to receive your notes.

  • I will endeavour to provide script notes within one to two weeks from receiving the script. However, I’m a professional working writer too so there may be times when my schedule is too full to do this. I will always discuss deadlines and keep you informed of how long I anticipate notes to take.

If you catch me at a busy time and would rather not wait then I’ll refund you in full.

  • If you can, it’s great to format your script using an industry standard template - however this isn’t essential! The most important thing is that your script is clearly laid out and consistent e.g. if you write action in italics, keep all the action as written in italics.

Font should be 11 or 12pt size with 1.5 or double spacing.
When properly formatted, a script will translate as one page = one minute of screen/stage/air time.

The BBC Writersroom has format guides however, these are tricky to copy without using script writing software such as Scrivener or Final Draft.

There is no widely used industry standard for stage plays so, again, just be clear and consistent.
The best way to submit a script for me to read is to email a PDF but I can also accept FDX Final Draft files.

  • If, for some reason, I’m unable to provide you with the service you’ve booked then of course I will issue a full refund.

If you fail to submit a script for notes or don’t show up for pre-agreed sessions then refunds will not be issued.

Of course, life happens and I understand if deadlines need to be extended or sessions postponed; I will do my best to accommodate these kind of things and ask that a minimum of 24 hours is given to reschedule online sessions.

Once I have completed and sent notes, a refund is then, of course, out of the question. I feel like I shouldn’t need to say this and I’ve never been asked to do it but just in case - I will not issue a refund in the case that you disagree with or dislike my notes(!)
